Equine healing
I have an innate ability to connect with horses on a spiritual as well as physical level. I started riding at the age of three which is when my love of horses started. Having worked on numerous yards of all different disciplines over the last 25 years I have attuned myself to their subtle nuances. I not only understand them but I have a very strong connection with their true essence. I combine this with my intuitive healing ability, holistic therapies and inner knowing to receive messages and guidance for the horses health and wellbeing for it's best intentions. We can find it frustrating and it can be very costly when our horses have a problem but aren't clear exactly what the problem is or how to remedy it. By tapping into the horses energy I am able to ascertain specific locations on the horses body that require attention. My treatments are not a replacement to veterinary care and I am happy to work alongside any conventional treatments the horse may be receiving. Healing is a non invasive and gentle treatment that supports the horses own ability to heal.
The healing process
The first thing I like to do when being presented with a new horse is to make an intuitive quiet inner connection with them. They instantly know if you are able to listen and hear them so for me to allow them to feel fully relaxed I like to let them know my intentions first and foremost (which is to help them) and that I am not demanding anything of them so that I am not presenting myself as a threat.
Horses and other animals generally want to let you know if they have an area they want healing energy sent to but sometimes their behavior can be misinterpreted as being moody, having behavioral issues or something else.
If a horse is extremely defensive, guarded and protecting themselves I may not even do the treatment directly but remotely from a safe space from the horse, until I have their trust or if I feel it is safe to work closer.
I use a combination of hands on and hands off healing when working with horses and other animals, sensing through my hands where there are issues with the body, if there are any blocked energy points or emotional blockages. The horse may also talk to me, relaying any past trauma or show me where they are uncomfortable. By starting with the intuitive healing I am able to help the horse feel relaxed giving it time to talk to me. I may finish my sessions with gentle effleurage to help the horse relax after any treatment but also to stimulate the energy flow which I find helps them process the treatment fully.
Herbalism and aromatherapy
Using herbs in a horses diet and used externally is a wonderful natural way to treat anything from allergies to skin ailments. Herbs may come in the form of powders, ground dried herbs (leaves, flowers and roots) or in liquid form depending on the herb and the ailment but also to make it palatable for the horse. I use aromatherapy within my practice and use oils where I feel appropriate whether to aid relaxation or to apply warmth to tight muscles to help them relax or to apply to areas where there may be energy blocks, to help allow the energy to flow.
As a herbalist I will offer advice on herbal treatment as part of my package and supply you with my my own bespoke herbal oils, balms, tonics and immune support blends to add to your horses feed where I feel appropriate.
Nutrition and Diet
We say the phrase 'we are what we eat' when we have problems occurring in our bodies so of course it's no wonder that this applies to horses too. There are some very simple changes that can be made to a horses diet but which can make a vast difference on their attitude, their skin, coat and general health and wellbeing. I've seen horses transformed in a very short span of time from making simple changes to their diets and even attitude changes. Too much oil in the diet can cause restriction to their muscles and give a false healthy shine to their coats which may mask other underlying issues they may have. Ready made mixes and pellets have added oils, salts and minerals of varying degrees so it's important to look closely at exactly what you are feeding your horse as you could be spending more money than you need to and feeding them something they just don't need.
Body work
Equine trigger point therapy works on releasing trapped tension in muscles and scar tissue which can block movement and cause pain resulting in apparent behavioral issues or poor performance issues. By using the energy work alongside the physical treatment of trigger point therapy I can release any blocked energy where their has been restriction. My touch is intuitive and my hands are led to problem areas. I use very gentle pressure when working on the trigger points as in my treatments I use it to release on a more energetic level which requires a lot less pressure and as it can be quite uncomfortable to work on sore areas I prefer to keep them relaxed.
Crystal healing
There are a vast range of crystals that can be used for healing and they possess different healing qualities. I bring only the essential crystals with me for the practice and depending on what I pick up from the treatment I may bring a specific crystal for his/her following treatment. I make a range of crystal jewelry which I offer to the client. I'm sometimes guided to advise if need be, to be worn when handling or riding the horse if it is the owner that requires an aid to bring confidence or reduce anxiety but also for the energy of the crystal to work via you to the horse. Due to the close relationship a horse generally has with it's owner I may receive guidance for them too. It may be that the owner or handler is requiring healing which the horse may be picking up on.
Animal healing
Animal healing can be applied to any animal and is a very effective way to get to the root cause of a problem whether it be a physical or emotional issue. I have helped to give healing to animals that are passing over by bringing relief from discomfort and giving them permission to let go. During a healing session I will allow the animal to find a safe and comfortable space with me where I will then place a selection of crystals within the animals auric energy field to assist with the healing. I quietly and slowly scan with my hands over their bodies to find areas that require attention and spend as much time as needed for the healing to be given.
Distant healing
Healing can be done from afar too and all that is required is the animals name and a clear photograph of the animal. I will do an energetic scan as I would if I where with the animal, receive messages of guidance and give healing accordingly. You will receive a full report of the session along with guidance and advice for a supportive treatment and any messages that I receive from them to give to you.
